Fresh-O-Matic vs. Super Shot

The Fresh‐O‐Matic and the Super Shot are both countertop food steamers that use steam to instantly deliver freshness and flavor to your precooked and frozen foods. You must use distilled water in the Fresh‐OMatic, the Super Shot uses plain tap water. If distilled water is not used in the FOM, hard water deposits build up in the holes and prevent efficient steam generation. The FOM has a very simple electronic control. You push the steam button to actuate and deliver precisely the right amount of steam. On the Super Shot, the steam button needs to be pushed and held for 2 to 3 seconds. The FOM has a water level indicator light on the control panel. When the FOM is low on water, the red light comes on and when the FOM is out of distilled water, the red light blinks.
